Enter our writing program for a chance to have your short story published in the 5th series of African Teen Soul Anthologies.
The selected stories will be published in an anthology by KwaziThina Publishers (KTP), the official publishers of the Africa Teen Authors Book Initiative (ATABI). We are seeking 25 outstanding short stories that capture the essence of Africa and its people. Our goal is to promote African excellence, challenge stereotypes, and foster a deeper understanding of the African experience.
Eligibility and Guidelines
- You must be 13-19 years old.
- You must be an African teenager living in Africa and beyond.
- No published teen author is allowed to enter the program. ATABI does not accept work that has been previously published in print or digital, including social media posts, blogs, and websites.
- We only accept stories written in English or French languages.
- Your short story must have a unique title.
- Tell an exciting, heart-warming story on “ONE AFRICA, MANY VOICES.”
- Your story must be true. No fiction.
- One Entry is allowed.
- The adjudicators’ decision is final and cannot be disputed.
- When you enter with your story, you retain ownership, but grant us the rights to publish it and use it in future Africa Teen Soul books or ATABI products. You declare that your story is your original work, and ATABI is not liable for plagiarism.
- We will announce the 25 selected stories in June 2025.
- Benefits: If your story is chosen, you will receive an e-book, join the Africa Teen Authors Book Family, and gain access to ATABI support, including networking opportunities, creative writing sessions, and personal development mentorship.
- ATABI reserves the right to extend or cancel the program.
